How to Choose the Right Bull, Bull Calf or Steer
The right animal depends on your goals. A buyer looking for a younger animal to grow out may have different needs from someone searching for an older bull or a steer.
Start with the animal type
Bull calves can be a practical starting point for buyers who want a younger animal and more time to evaluate growth. Older bulls may cost more because age, size, maturity and breeding value can increase their market value. Steers are evaluated differently and are commonly compared by age, size, condition and estimated weight.
Ask about the individual animal
Before deciding, ask about approximate age, estimated weight, breed background, temperament, current condition and the seller's observations. Photos and videos help, but an in-person farm visit is often the clearest way to compare available animals.
Understand the starting price
At Musa Meadows, calves start at $1,900. That price does not apply to every animal. Older bulls, larger cattle and select breeding prospects will be priced higher according to the individual animal and current market conditions.
Make your inquiry specific
The fastest way to receive useful options is to include your budget, preferred animal type, size or age range, intended use and pickup timing. We can then focus on animals that may fit your needs.
